“The Original Story”

1. Great things are born in a hunger for God.

When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of

David, have mercy on me!” Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Mark 10:47-48

 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to

you as well.

Matthew 6:33

2. As we cry out to Jesus, he engages us.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 

Mark 10:49

3. We must step in faith.

Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”

“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and

followed Jesus along the road.

Mark 10:50-52

“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.”
