Here Comes the Judge

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ,

2 Corinthians 5:10a

Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgement.

Hebrews 9:27

1. We lose hope if there isn’t a judgment day.

God is love.

1 John 4:16b

“Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.

John 5:28-29

2. We lose hope if there is a judgment day.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3:23

So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment?

Romans 2:3

3. In Jesus we pass judgment day!

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth … Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied;

Isaiah 53:6-7, 10-11a
