I’m Sorry

  • Families are made up of broken people.

. . . for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God . . .

Romans 3:23 p. 1129

  • When we say “I’m sorry,” we bring healing.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

James 5:16a p. 1219

How to say “I’m Sorry”

  1. Recognize your responsibility in the situation.

Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment . . .

Romans 12:3 p. 1137

  1.   Be humble enough to admit it to the other party.

All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,” God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

1 Peter 5:5 p. 1223

  1.     Do not minimize.

All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

Matthew 5:37 p. 970

  1.   Change behavior.

Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

Matthew 3:8 p. 967

Action Step:   I commit to follow Jesus for the first time.
