May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
as you trust in him, so that you may overflow
with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
“Moving through Change”
- Let go of your past.
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. . .” So Abram went, as the Lord had told him . . .
Genesis 12:1, 4
What do you need to let go of?
- Hold on to God’s promise.
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.”
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”
What promise do you need to grab hold of?
- Anticipate there will be difficulties in change.
Abram traveled through the land . . . At that time the Canaanites were in the land . . . Now there was a famine in the land . . .
Genesis 12:6, 10
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all . . .
What difficulties could you face?
- Be connected to Jesus.
There he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord.
When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!
2 Corinthians 5:17 (TLB)
