Building Proactive Change

  1.    Decide what you want to change

“The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways . . .”

Proverbs 14:8a *p. 641

“So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.”

Acts 6:2 p. 1096

What in your life would you like to change?

  1.   How could you start the change?

“Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”

Acts 6:3-4

How could you make that change?

  1.   Bring others in to support the change.

“This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.  They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.”

Acts 6:5-6

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Galatians 6:2 p. 1171

Who could help you change?

  1.   Monitor results and adjust accordingly.

“So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.”

Acts 6:7

How will you measure change?
