When our NO says YES
to God’s plan for our family
- Say NO to busy and say YES to rest.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
Psalm 23: 1-3 *pg. 548
- Say NO to frenzy and YES to focus.
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:38-42 pg. 1041
- Saying NO is an act of love.
Now Jesus LOVED Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazurus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days then he said to his disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.”
John 11:5-7 pg. 1076
